A. Yes, young and older alike; beginners to advance!

Q. Is tutoring offered for home decor?
A. You may take advantage of sew tutor and
apply the basic sewing principles for home decor.
Q. What will I learn with Fashion Runway Sew Tutor?
A. You will learn basic sewing skills along with some garment industry techniques that will make tailoring/dressmaking easier and faster!
Q. What is the difference from Fashion Runway Sew Tutor from other sewing classes?
A. First, this is not the old sewing instruction of times past. Second, it's about style and fit, it's creative, it's talent, it's knowledge at work with lot's of fun! Fashion Runway is where fashion & sewing become one!
Q. I have fitting problems, would this be addressed?
A. Yes! Everyone is unique and everyone has a fitting issue no matter what size they are.
Q. Is there a difference between a Tailor and a Dressmaker?
A. Not really, unless gender is factored in. Men are generally called Tailors and women are called Dressmakers but can be and often are both. The new term for everyone is SEAMSTERS!
Q. If I'm taking fashion design in college, how would Fashion Runway Sew Tutor assist me?
A. Although this is non-credited, you will still learn some basic skills and techniques that may not be coverd in your other classes. Again, this is unlike the old sewing classes of the past. For example, you'll learn how to work with the sewing machine feeddog when sewing a set in sleeve without pins or one pucker! A garment industry technique, well worth it!
Q. What is the Fashion Runway Sewing Contest?
A. This is inspired by the hit fashion designer show! This is a contest & class for intermediate to advance sewers! It's about showing off some of the design and garment industry techniques gained during a 4 week class period, then being judged on design, fabric choice, sewing skills, and overall garment apperance! All Students can participate in The Fashion Runway Fashion Show held annually & hosted by DebStyle @ Detroit Sewing Spot! The Contest Winner will get some cool sewing related prizes! (Contest details will be given before the contest starts, so check the calendar!)
Q. What will I learn if I take a workshop instead of participating in the Sew Tutor progam?
A. Since the workshops are only for a few hours, what is covered is condensed information of sewing basics, but includes sewing machine basics, sewing samples, (paper & fabric) and you may have the choice of making an apron or pillow.
The Fashion Runway Sew Tutor program allows for much more time, so more information is coved such as basic textile information, pattern adjustments, basic draping and you also will make a garment to your measurements!
